Check your modem if it's capable to send Facsimiles (supported FAX classes):

0,1,2,2.0,8

Installation

./configure
make
make install
faxsetup
/usr/sbin/faxmodem /dev/ttyS0

Test it

Check if the service is running and ready on your server:

$ faxstat
<<  HylaFAX scheduler on example.com: Running
<<  Modem ttyS0 (+41 1 123 4567): Running and idle

Send your first Facsimile

sendfax -d number file.tif

Incoming Facsimiles (forwarded as PDF attachment)

If you had to tweak the HylaFAX Shell script that is responsible for the e-mail forwarding of incoming facsimiles, edit the following script:

/var/spool/hylafax/bin/faxrcvd
